Czech Fashion Designers: Josefina Bakošová
If you don't know me very well, you probably have no idea that before becoming a professional photographer, I graduated from ESMOD (Paris), with a BA diploma in fashion design (concentration in design of accessories). After finishing this degree, for one year, I worked for a design bureau in Paris, which at a time mainly worked on creating accessories for KENZO. Twelve months of tracing technical drawings and working late hours without any visible possibility of getting promoted, I decided to pursue my other creative passion and went to study photography at SCAD. However, my love for shoes and peculiar jewelry remained.
For this fashion story, we had the pleasure of collaborating with three Czech designers: Josefina Bakošová, Luba Bakicova, and Pavla Vachunova.
When I first saw the location, I immediately thought that we must create a bold, strong look with lots of accessories. Every room of the MEET ME 23 hotel dictated a different mood, so we decided to play with vivid color combinations, as well as stylistic influences (Spanish corrida, 1970s neon, and Japanese street fashion).
